Privacy Policy
- Aventa is not live yet, so there is very little to tell you.
- If you sign up, we keep what you typed into that form so we can contact you about Aventa. Nothing else.
- We never sell your details, share them, or add you to anyone else's mailing list.
- The readiness check runs entirely in your browser. We never see your answers or your score.
- We only use cookies if you say yes. If you do, Zoho SalesIQ helps us see how the site is used and recognise you if you have registered. No advertising trackers, ever.
- Ask us to delete everything we hold about you and we will, without asking why.
The full detail is below. If anything here is unclear, email hello@aventaai.uk and our CEO, Liam Buckingham, will reply to you personally.
Who we are
Aventa AI Ltd ("Aventa") is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17487773. Aventa is a pre-launch venture platform based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what we do with personal information collected through aventaai.co.uk.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Aventa is the data controller for that information. That means we decide what is collected and why, and we are the ones accountable for it.
- Contact
- hello@aventaai.uk. This goes straight to our CEO, Liam Buckingham, who will reply personally.
- Company
- Aventa AI Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17487773
- Postal address
- Available on request by email.
- Data protection officer
- We are not required to appoint one at our size, and we have not. Enquiries go to the address above.
What we collect
There are only three ways this site collects anything, and two of them are optional.
If you fill in the sign up form
We collect exactly what you typed and nothing more:
- Required
- Your name and email address. We cannot contact you without them.
- Optional
- Your phone number, roughly where in the world you are based, and — depending on which option you choose — a business name, a sentence about your idea, a firm or fund name, the company you work for and your role there, and a website or LinkedIn address.
If we count your visit
We record that a page was viewed, which page it was, the country the request came from, and the kind of device and browser used. This is aggregate and cannot be traced back to you. See section 05.
If you accept cookies
Only if you click Accept on the cookie banner, Zoho SalesIQ records the pages you view on this site, when you visit, the type of device and browser you use, and an approximate location worked out from your network address. If you have also filled in one of our forms, it links your name and email address to those visits, so we can see that you came back and what interested you. If you click No thanks, none of this happens.
What we deliberately do not collect
We do not ask for, and have no way to obtain, your date of birth, payment details, government identifiers, or any special category data — health, ethnicity, religion, politics, sexuality, or biometrics. Please do not send us any of it.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
Under UK GDPR we have to tell you not just what we use your information for, but the legal basis we rely on to do it. Here is all of it.
- To sign you up, welcome you and tell you when Aventa opens
- Consent. You gave it by choosing to fill in the form. You can withdraw it at any time and we stop immediately.
- To send you the breakdown of your readiness check
- Consent. Your answers and score are only sent to us if you enter your email and ask for the breakdown.
- To answer a question you asked us
- Legitimate interests — you contacted us and expect a reply.
- To call or message you, if you gave us a number
- Consent. Tell us to stop and we stop, permanently.
- To see how the site is used and recognise people who have registered
- Consent, given by clicking Accept on the cookie banner. Change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
- To understand how many people visit the site
- Legitimate interests in knowing whether anyone is reading it. The measurement is anonymous and cannot identify you, so it does not override your rights.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and nothing we do produces legal or similarly significant effects on you. If you accept cookies, we look at which pages you visited so we can follow up in a way that is relevant to you, and that is as far as it goes.
The readiness check
It never leaves your device.
The five question investor readiness check on the home page is worked out entirely inside your browser, in JavaScript running on your own computer or phone.
Your answers are not transmitted to us. Your score is not transmitted to us. Neither is stored, logged or recorded anywhere, by us or by anyone else. Refresh the page and it is gone. We could not tell you what you scored even if you asked us to.
Measuring the site
Counts, not people.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where in the world they are.
It sets no cookies, it does not fingerprint your device, it does not follow you to other websites, and it cannot tell us who you are. We only ever see totals. Under the UK's current rules, anonymous analytics of this kind does not need your consent, so it runs whether or not you accept cookies.
Separately, and only if you accept cookies, we use Zoho SalesIQ as described in section 06.
If you would rather not be counted at all, block static.cloudflareinsights.com in your browser or an ad blocker and nothing will be recorded. Or email hello@aventaai.uk and we will tell you how.
Cookies
Only if you say yes.
When you first visit, we ask whether you are happy for us to use cookies. Until you click Accept, no tracking cookie is set and Zoho's code is not even loaded.
If you accept, Zoho SalesIQ sets cookies that recognise your browser on later visits and record which pages you view. If you have filled in one of our forms, your name and email are attached to those visits. We use this to understand what people are interested in and to follow up properly with people who have registered. We do not use it for advertising, and Zoho may not use it for anything of its own.
We store your choice in your browser's own storage (under the name aventa-consent) so we do not ask you again on every page. That is not a tracking cookie and it is never sent to us.
You can change your mind whenever you like: click Cookie settings here or at the bottom of any page.
The typeface comes from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see the network address your browser connects from when a page loads.
The Aventa AI assistant
What happens when you chat.
The Aventa AI chat on this site is an automated assistant, not a person. It answers questions about Aventa using information we have given it, and it can be wrong.
To answer you, the messages in your conversation are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI), which processes them to write each reply. Under its business terms, it does not use them to train its models. We do not store your conversation on our own systems, and it is cleared when you close your browser tab.
If you choose to leave your name, phone number or email in the chat, we receive those details along with the conversation so far, and keep them in the same private spreadsheet as other enquiries. We use them only to reply to you. Our lawful basis is consent: you chose to send them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Please do not share anything sensitive in the chat, such as health, financial or account details.
Where it is stored
Netlify, Google, Cloudflare and OpenAI are based in, or operate from, the United States. Zoho holds our data in its EU data centre. That means your information may be stored or processed outside the UK.
Where it is, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires — the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses, as set out in each provider's own data processing terms. You can ask us for detail on any specific provider and we will point you to it.
How long we keep it
- Sign up details
- Until you ask us to delete them, or until we stop building Aventa — whichever comes first. If Aventa never launches, the list is deleted.
- Email correspondence
- Kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.
- Analytics
- Retained by Cloudflare on their standard schedule. It is anonymous, so there is nothing in it to attach to you.
- Chat details you leave
- Kept with other enquiries until you ask us to delete them, or until they are no longer needed to reply to you.
- Visit history in Zoho
- Kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. If you ask us to delete your details, your visit history goes too.
- Readiness check answers
- Never held at all. See section 04.
We would rather hold less than more. If you sign up and then go quiet for a long time, expect us to delete you rather than keep you on a list forever.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the following rights. All of them are free to use, and we will not ask you to justify yourself.
- Access
- Ask for a copy of everything we hold about you.
- Rectification
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
- Erasure
- Ask us to delete it. For a pre-launch waiting list, there is essentially never a reason for us to refuse.
- Restriction
- Ask us to keep it but stop using it.
- Portability
- Ask for it in a machine-readable file you can take elsewhere.
- Objection
- Object to us holding it on the basis of legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent
- Withdraw it at any time. That does not undo anything done lawfully beforehand, but it stops everything from that point.
- Unsubscribe
- Every email we send will have a way to stop them. Replying "stop" works just as well.
Email hello@aventaai.uk to use any of them. We will respond within one month, which is the legal maximum — in practice it will usually be the same week.
Children and young people
Aventa is a business tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.
If you believe a child has registered, email hello@aventaai.uk and we will delete the record.
Changes to this policy
Aventa is being built, so this policy will change as the product does. When it does, we will update the date and version at the top of this page.
If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold about you — rather than simply describing something new — we will email everyone on the list and tell them before it takes effect.
Complaints
If we have got something wrong, tell us first at hello@aventaai.uk. It is the fastest way to have it fixed and we would genuinely rather hear it.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator at any time, and you do not need to come to us first:
- Information Commissioner's Office
